Fitness Photos

May 1st, 2013

If you’ve browsed through Migrate Photos, you probably noticed that there weren’t many “people” pictures… Since I have a predilection for macro photography, I usually choose objects, flowers and insects as my subjects. I turned down quite a few requests from people wanting me to take family portraits because I just don’t feel comfortable with that kind of photography. I would end up with slanted close ups of hands, eyes and noses… and I don’t know if people would appreciate my perspective since most of them are very traditional when it comes to family pictures.

When my friend Sonia asked me to take fitness photos of her, I warned her: “I usually don’t photograph people, this is not my thing… and fitness photography is an art in itself that I know nothing about…”, but we decided to do it anyway. Just the two of us and a few pieces of equipment. No make up, no professional lighting, very basic.

Sonia’s body is a piece of art in itself, like a sculpture carefully defined, her muscles create lines and shapes that really inspired me. Here’s a little glimpse at the result.

Those annoying Instagram filters that make all of our pictures have a similar feel, sometimes help you create that one image that’s truly unique and beautiful. This is mine.

Post Summer Fun

August 2nd, 2011

If your summer was like ours, then you must feel happy and content, rejuvenated and ready to get back in the day-to-day routine. We made a long and fun trip to France, and visited a lot of different cities. We also took time to go deep into the country side, and infuse ourselves with priceless sights. Every moment of this trip was a true spectacle for the eyes. And since we just happened to have our camera with us ;) , we took a lot of new pictures to supply our photo libraries.
We will continue to update our “Picture Of The Week” on Migrate Design’s Facebook page. Here is an example of the photographs you’ll see in this album.

So if you’ll excuse us, we must leave you to go thru the hundreds of new photos we took in France. In the meantime, feel free to like us on Facebook, or follow us on Twitter.

À bientôt!

Bags Of Books Program

November 3rd, 2010

In a constant effort to help our community, Géraldine and Migrate Design donated their services by designing a store window display and a bookmark for the “Bags Of Books” program.
For a duration of one month, people can purchase books from Borders, and donate them to a local school. The Santa Clarita Valley Education Foundation organized this exciting program in collaboration with Borders Santa Clarita.

We took care of everything, from the photo shoot to the design, and we are very happy to be part of this prime initiative.

See you at Borders!

Santa Clarita Festival Of The Arts Video

October 6th, 2010

During the Santa Clarita Festival of the Arts weekend, Géraldine took pictures every 10-15 minutes from her stand. She built this peaceful time-lapse video that depicts the variety of people that came to see us.
Enjoy ;)

Migrate Photos In The Santa Clarita Valley

September 7th, 2010

About a month ago, we submitted a couple of photos to an art project managed by the city of Santa Clarita, and both were selected. Today, we are very excited to see them at random bus stops throughout the city. Titled “Morning” and “Oh The Place You’ll Go”, those photos are two of our very favorite work. So look around! you might see them for yourself.

Look for us at the Santa Clarita Festival of the Arts, October 2-3, as we will be selling our photos, already enclosed in elegant and stylish frames. We’ll see you there!
