Letterhead Is Not Dead!

March 5th, 2014

With the explosion of the internet, most of our communication is made through email, text and social media. Regular mail seem like a slow, inefficient thing of the past… However, I think every business should have corporate identity elements like a letterhead and business card to maintain its image. These elements show that your business is established and serious. They help provide trust and credibility.

Your letterhead should of course include your logo, which is the most important element of your visual identity and be consistent with your other branding elements. (You don’t have a logo? Contact Migrate Design as this is where you need to start… )

Your letterhead should be printed professionally and include all your contact information: address, phone, email and website address.

Website, email and social media are crucial in today’s world, but a professionally printed corporate letterhead is just one more element that will define your brand and image to your clients.

Your Logo, Your Identity.

February 5th, 2013

Why is having a logo so important?

A logo is a symbol or small design used to identify an organization, a business or even an individual, product or service. A logo is what gives you a visual identity and we all know how important it is in today’s world. Take a look at the logo of our friends at Fully-Verified for an example. The circular arrows stand for the transition from the unknown party to the known, while the saturation with green gradient invokes connotations of smooth traffic and safety – exactly what their services stand for.

Relevant: Wether you want it very obvious or more subtile, your logo needs to relate to your company’s services, products or its name, one way or another.

Representation: Your logo is your image, so whatever you want your potential customers to know about your company, your logo should represent it. Make it look professional, stylish and smart – or fun, grungy and smart.

Memorable: A smart logo is a memorable logo, and by smart I mean simple yet able to deliver a message. It needs to grab people’s attention quickly and stay anchored in their minds.

Color: Choosing the right color is important but once again, less is more and a logo should work in black and white as well as in color.

Identity: So you have the perfect logo… Now what? Use it as your visual identity and spread it. Business cards, flyers, brochures, ads… you name it! The more present your logo is in your community, the more chances people will hire you or buy your products!

So, are logos important? YES! The moment you try to reach people and you want them to remember you or your business, you need a logo. Every business, as small as it might be, should have one.

What if you already have a logo but you’re not happy with it? Even though you shouldn’t change your visual identity too much – just like you wouldn’t change your name – it’s never too late to give it a small makeover. Visual trends change over the years and once your logo is established, it’s okay to change it to make it fit the times better. Pepsi is a good example for this type of design evolution.

Migrate Design can help you create something unique and memorable. Don’t be shy, get your visual identity out there!

Water Works Plumbing is the perfect example of logo makeover! From complicated and outdated, to simple and modern, Migrate Design gave this logo, a fresh new start.

… who is the prettiest of them all?

We may not have the answer to that question, but Last Looks does! thanks to their cutting edge makeup skills and experience. Our relationship with Last Looks started roughly 2 years ago, when we created the skull illustration for their line of products.

February 16th, 2012

For the past couple of weeks, we have been working on a new project, for a brand new client.

We are extremely grateful and excited to illustrate a children’s book. Compared to designing logos and corporate banners, this is a nice change of pace and style. As much as we appreciate everything we do, we welcome variety, and feel fortunate to be able to handle various facets of graphic design. We temporarily traded our computer mouse for paint brushes. We welcome the opportunity to work on a project that allows us to fully explore and make use of our creative energy. We love to get our hands covered in paint – and sometimes our nose ;)

We’ll make sure to give more details upon release, with additional information about the book, and where to find it.

If you wrote a book, or if you think of writing one and you need an illustrator, please contact us. We would be more than happy to work with you!

Migrate Google+

November 9th, 2011

Google+ has been making quite a buzz since its official release 2 days ago. We’ve read a lot of online articles about the new social network giant and they all depict a wide spread of emotions. Some people embrace it while others are frustrated at the idea of having to create yet another page for this new outlet. How successful will this new circle be? It’s anyone’s guess at this point. Nonetheless, Migrate Design decided optimistically to get on this bandwagon.

If you remain undecided about your decision to join or not, consider this important fact: If you have a page on Google+, it’ll be strongly put it forward in Google search results, and even more so if you have a lot of followers that +1 your business page! That is the foremost change, which will interest all businesses, organizations and companies looking for a better online referencing.

So get your g+ and let the “plusification” begin!

Santa Clarita Advertising (.com)

September 5th, 2011

Migrate Design just acquired a new domain name: santaclaritaadvertising.com!

We’re very excited about owning such precious web real estate. This will undeniably boost online traffic and increase awareness of our company within the local advertising industry. With the proper links, we should be able to route traffic to our main site and let the visitor learn more about what we do and how we can help. Being able to include relevant information in the domain name can be extremely beneficial. If done right, it will guaranty a strong presence within search engines. Competition is fierce, so we don’t expect a number one ranking on Google or Yahoo… but we’ll definitely take first page.

The site is under construction for the moment. Stay tuned for upcoming news and content information. In the meantime, please visit our website at migratedesign.com.

A New Logo For Pacific View Remodeling

August 29th, 2011

Contrary to the famous quote, looks are NOT everything… but it sure is a good place to start! If you’re a small business in the Santa Clarita valley, you’re trying to drill through fierce competition to get ahead. You’re one of many companies listed on multiple online listings, and the only thing that will set you apart from your competition is visual identity.

Pacific View Remodeling, a successful construction company servicing the Santa Clarita valley is our newest client and we started them off with a brand new logo. We needed something memorable and strong enough to underline this distinct company name. After many design options, we could not be happier with our client’s pick.

A strong logo is a very good place to start, as it is the beginning of business relationships.

Is your visual identity powerful enough? Please call us to review and discuss your graphic design needs. Migrate Design – 661 644 6518
